A bit about me…

As a little girl, whenever my parents had guests over, I always assumed the role of entertainer for the night. I'd put on these theatrical shows, filled with plot twists,  choreographed dance routines,  and quick costume changes to bring new stories to life.

That storytelling bug never left me…

What I do for work

I am currently a senior writer and chase producer with CBC News Network in Toronto. I’ve written, edited and chase-produced for multiple national TV shows as well as radio shows including Canada Tonight, The Rundown, The World at Six, The World this Weekend and more.

I also contribute as a casual reporter and digital writer for local CBC stations in Ontario, including CBC Sudbury and Kitchener-Waterloo.

In 2023, I led a social media pilot project for CBC’s six local stations in Ontario to help enhance their stories across all social media platforms.

My side gig

I am presently the host and co-producer of the Best of the WWEST, a monthly podcast that connects with women and gender-diverse trailblazers in STEM fields, opening the floor to discussions around the challenges of underrepresentation in STEM industries.

Education

I graduated from Vancouver’s University of British Columbia in 2022 with a Master of Journalism degree. I was a Fellow at the Global Reporting Program and worked with other journalists, scholars, and graduate students from around the world to create an in-depth reporting project around the topic of Aging and Eldercare. The project was published in The Globe and Mail and has won awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Association of Healthcare Journalists.

My interests, outside of journalism

Outside of journalism, I'm passionate about fitness and health. In 2015, I lived out a teenage dream by spending six months in New York City, where I became a Certified Fitness Trainer through the American Academy of Personal Training. During that time, I also interned at the Indo-American Arts Council, contributing to organizing the New York Indian Film Festival.

On top of that, I'm proud to have authored a Fitness Guidebook tailored for the Mission neighbourhood in Kelowna, B.C.

When I'm not chasing news or pumping iron, you can find me crushing it at weekly trivia, improv workshops or dodgeball.
